Interesting. I'm not familiar with Mr. Stafford's views and have only seen his name mentioned here and there. In reading his take on the blood issue, I wonder if he used to defend the WT party line? To yet call himself one of Jehovah's Witnesses and have such an "apostate" stand, well...interesting.

by littlerockguy inbefore i quit going to the meetings just before they announced that someone was to be reinstated they would ask that the congregation not clap due to the seriousness of the situation.
i thought it was so pathetic.
do they still announce that now when some one is reinstated?.

I haven't been to a KH in years and years and had no idea that clapping is forbidden. For #%&@'s sake, they are truly more stark raving mad than even I thought. I think it's almost worth GOING to the hall for awhile JUST so I could see someone get reinstated so I could give a GD 10 minute standing ovation!! You know, the someone stands and claps slowly, deliberately until others join in type ovation... They really are not HUMAN anymore are they?

What is the Society's stand on illegal immigrants?
by cruzanheart ini've been away long enough (thank god) that i don't know what the party line is anymore about this.
when i was "in" i studied with a nice woman from venezuela and, when my mom found out she was in the country illegally, she stopped the study and told yomaira that we couldn't study with her until she got her immigration status cleared up.
this was back in the late 1970's.. however, i spoke with a jw friend this past weekend and it was taken for granted that a family member's caregivers -- who are witnesses in good standing going to the spanish congregation -- are not here legally.

I was told by the only witness I have any contact with anymore, that the illegals are "encouraged" to become legal citizens. I have serious doubts about that since I've not seen it in any of Blondie's WT Reviews. :) -

Maybe this will help a little.
I know someone that went through a divorce and had a hell of a time sleeping for like a year! He told me that one night he couldn't sleep so he turned on the TV to take his mind off things for a bit. Unfortunately, the show he was watching was at a comedy club and when they panned out into the audience who should be sitting there yukking it up but his ex-wife. LOL That had to hurt!
Ok, so maybe it won't help at all but whatever you do, don't watch TV. -

two seperate sad deaths in our community
by purplesofa ini feel so sorry for the wife and son of this man that lost his life trying to care for a woman being pistol whipped and purse stolen in walmart parking lot.
jacksonville man is shot and killed outside a north little rock department store, the result of a purse snatching gone horribly wrong.. .
it happened outside the wal mart supercenter on east mccain in north little rock sunday afternoon.

Pretty scary. I have relatives in both NLR and Jacksonville and I think of them as small towns where that sort of thing doesn't happen - even though I know better.
